I went back and forth on this skirt for a few weeks. Picked it up at Macy’s for $35. How can you go wrong with 100% silk for $35? It sat in my closet for a couple of weeks while I tried to decide if it made me look like a hippie (and I hate hippies). Normally I am against tiered skirts, but it was very comfortable, plus inexpensive, plus it was SILK. I figured a nice top and a pair of killer heels will suck the …
-Jewelry, -Kenneth Cole »
Like any girl, I love jewelry, but I have a hard time spending money on costume jewelry because I have a tendency to run out without putting any on. On top of that, I don’t buy bracelets often. I have freakishly slender wrists, so most bracelets fall right off (or at least look bizarre).
So I was psyched to pick this beauty up. It was $14 on the Macy’s clearance table. At the time I remember feeling guilty about spending “so much” on a bracelet. I …
-BCBG, -Tops »
I bought this years ago, and honestly I don’t remember where I got it. Most likely from BlueFly.com. I rarely wear it, as it becomes a lethal weapon on a sunny day. But I just adore shiny things. This top is sleeveless, with a cowl neck. You can’t see it in the picture, but the other side is ruched with a long silver tie.
This photo was taken of me when I went to the Madonna concert. I was hoping to be the shiniest …

I had never heard of House of Dereon before I saw these babies at Macy’s. Apparently Beyonce Knowles has her own line, like every other diva. Luckily I like Beyonce, so I had no problem buying these shoes. When I saw these, I fell head over heels in lust with them. Friends and family were shocked – these are possibly the girliest shoes I own. Far frillier than ANYTHING in my closet.
After hubby told me it was ok to buy them (they weren’t too …
-Marc Jacobs, -Shoes »
Another Marc Jacobs shoe that I had lusted over at the beginning of the season, but managed to get on sale. I had seen it on the sale rack at Bloomies, but managed to keep walking. When I returned a week later, it was still there. That was a sign – I snapped them up without delay. They look a million times cuter on (not sure how that is possible, but it is). The heel is chunkier than I normally wear, but it is very …

I am obsessed with Andy Warhol. Obsessed. I came across this goodie at GirlShop.com. It was on clearance for $27! I wasted no time buying one. They had a couple of other totebags and purses with various Warhol prints on them, all on clearance. But I was a good girl, and only got this one. My first choice design was, of course, the Campbell’s Soup Can print, but when you buy on clearance, you often don’t have much of a choice. …
-Ann Taylor, -Dresses »
I picked up this dress mid-April, 2006, from the sale racks at Ann Taylor Loft. We got to the mall about 10 minutes before closing. Hubby went to the computer store, as he always does, and I raced to the other end of the mall. I got there in the nick of time, and tried on three dresses. I bought the one you see above (I ended up going back and getting the other two dresses on two separate shopping excursions). When I raced back …
-Marc Jacobs, -Shoes »
I thought I would start off this blog with my newest acquisition: My Marc by Marc Jacobs Mouse shoes.
I saw these at the beginning of the season and thought they were kind of silly. I mean, they were really expensive kids shoes. But every time I walked by them at Macy’s or Bloomies or Nordstroms, they seemed to be smiling at me. They grew on me, until finally I was obsessed (as an obsessive-compulsive, this is especially dangerous). I was hoping they would go on sale. …
