Oh Lacroix shoes, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. One, your whimsical polka-dots. Two, your red trim that provides a delicate but decidedly modern detail. Three, your 3.5″ heel that is neither too narrow, nor too chunky. Four, your semi-rounded toe, not too pointy, just enough to lend an air of vintage maturity to an otherwise playful shoe.
I picked these up at the Christian Lacroix boutique in Caeser’s Palace in Las Vegas. These are one of the few pairs of couture shoes that I loved enough to pay full price for. Well, technically, my husband did. The trip was a half-business, half-pleasure. He was on set all day, and I was left to my own devices in the shops on the strip. I fell in love with these the moment I saw them, and that love only grew when I tried them on. I put them on hold, telling the salespeople that I had to check with my husband. I continued with my shopping for the day, all the while thinking of those shoes. I finally sent him a text message: “How much is too much for shoes?” When I told him the price, he told me to buy them - that they would be my birthday present.
I did not buy them immediately. I was also lusting after a pair of Miu Miu silver Mary Janes (I have been dying for a pair since last season). But I had not been able to find the Miu Miu shoes anywhere outside the pages of Vogue. I called a few places in Vegas, but no one had them in silver, so I happily purchased the Lacroix. I have been obsessed with them since I got them. The first time I wore them, I spent half the night staring dreamily at them.

Your shoes are gorgeous. I must book a trip to Las Vegas.
woah! What a nice blog you have! I’m more of a ‘collector’ of footwearnews in my blog.
I think your blog will be one of my favourites.

Thanks Hessie… you have some interesting shoes on your blog as well!
There’s nothing quite like a girl in heels and these are super, super awesome.
It makes me long for the days of being your “Hetero Shopping Buddy!”
Oh I love these! I tried on a pair of similar Manolo Blahniks while in Vegas last week. They ended up staying in Vegas - I decided they were a bad idea since I own NOTHING blue. My whole closet is black, white and pink. But I did buy two other pairs of MBs so I didn’t leave empty handed.
