Everyone is going green, by using organic, sustainable materials. But what ever happened to recycling? Granted, recycling old products into new often uses the same amount of energy and produces just as much pollution - if not more. The best way to recycle is to reuse material in its current state. So District Cotton did just that. They have created a line of purses and carryalls that are made from vinyl advertisement banners.

“We get the materials directly from the companies that print them,” designer Rodrigo Chapero tells me. “A lot are samples, made for clients, that they normally throw away.” The inspiration came from Freitag’s truck tarpaulin recycled bags. After experimenting with different materials, the vinyl banners were chosen for their durability and design.

Each bag is hand-made in a tiny Buenos Aires studio. Banners are cleaned and sorted by color, then pieced together using the best sections of color, text, and imagery. “Each one is cut and hand-crafted, making them unique pieces,” says Rodrigo.

District Cotton also sells a line of tees and hoodies for men, women, and babies made of organic, sustainable cotton. They are also hard at work at a line of eco-friendly furniture and housewares. A recycled, customizable lamp is already completed.

Organic materials are great in makeup and clothing because with makeup it makes your skin feel smooth and your skin does not break out as much as with some of the other stuff.
And as with clothing you have cotton which feels great on the skin as cashmere and that feels itchy
thanks i wanted to enter the contest
