Maybe If We All Pool Our Money We Can Buy One…

Ah, to be rich. Or famous. Either one will get you closer to these gems.

The Platinum Guild International is hosting their annual Emmy Awards jewelry preview. With $40 million dollars worth of jewelry on display, security is tight. The event is held in a top-secret location in Los Angeles, with two different security checkpoints and a few plain-clothes security guards.

Trays and trays of platinum jewelry are laid out like a sumptuous buffet. Most pieces are adorned with diamonds and gemstones. Don’t get too jealous of the celebs who will get to wear this stuff on Sunday - they have to give it back. But you can get a little jealous: they got stellar gift bags including a leather handbag, lingerie, iPod nano, and a variety of beauty treatment gift cards. La Prairie was also on hand to debut their new, ultra-exclusive platinum cream (more on that soon).

It wasn’t all bling. Celebrity guests were invited to autograph limited-edition platinum iPods, which will be auctioned off for Clothes Off Our Backs. The charity was started by Jane Kaczmarek and Brad Whitford (the cutest couple in Hollywood, I might add) to sell clothing and accessories celebrities wear to various red carpet events. All proceeds go to various children’s charities around the globe.

I LOVE that Erica Courtney necklace. I generally love that shape but the style and color is sooo pretty. Very girly.
