I stumbled upon this fantastic vintage store a few weeks ago. I was in the area looking for a yarn shop, and found Playclothes instead. The place was jam packed with copious amounts of vintage clothing, shoes, hats, jewelry, coats, knick-knacks, and other various pieces of yore.
After well over an hour in the store, I finally came away with this gorgeous hat (along with a couple other pieces which you will see later). Black felt and velvet, with a long, swooping feather adornment, this hat is probably …

In keeping with the theme from yesterday, let’s show off my new, ridiculous sunglasses. Ridiculous in price, ridiculous in size, ridiculous in lens thickness.
When I got my new prescription, I decided I wanted ridiculously huge shades. Lindsay Lohan on her way to rehab huge. First we have the Band-Aid Blister Block Stick. It looks like a travel-sized stick of deodorant, and promises to create an invisible barrier of protection – no stickiness, no stains. And it really delivers. A few weeks ago, we were in Vegas, and I put on the Blister Block Stick before going out in my Marc Jacobs Bronze Pumps. I applied to my heels, the outer edge of …

I adore my father-in-law but… well… he’s a geek, in every sense of the word. He knows he is a geek; he embraces it.
One of his geeky indulgences is Dr. Who, a British sci-fi show that has been going on, in several incarnations, for about as long as I have been alive. One of the good doctor’s trademarks is his obscenely long, wide, 1970s-inspired scarves. So when I first took up knitting, my husband immediately found a Dr. Who scarf pattern for me to make. He …
