Gazebo Textiles is a true indie fashion house, run by artist Ricki Lee Moler out of her actual Pennsylvania home. A life of creativity has lead her to creating cut and sewn apparel, each piece being individually hand painted for a truly one-of-a-kind creation. Hand painting fabrics is just what it sounds like. Instead of dying fabrics in huge batches, each piece has special paint or dye applied by hand.

The titular gazebo is real – it is where Ricki learned her fabric painting techniques. …

-Dresses, -Marc Jacobs »

I own a pretty disturbing amount of Marc Jacobs shoes, but not a single stitch of clothing. At least, not until a few weeks ago, when I found this adorable dress at eLuxury.com. Every Marc piece I tried on was ill-fitting. Too blousy or too snug, in all the wrong places. This plaid dress is far more tailored than most of the other Marc Jacobs pieces from the last couple of seasons.
The dress is an interesting blend of elements. The body is long, and tailored, …

Mr. Spork and I recently went to Vegas for the weekend. He was going for work, and well, I was going for Vegas. Saturday he spent the day on set, and I was let loose in the shops.
I spent several hours shopping, went back to the hotel to rest for an hour… and went back out for more shopping. While sitting in that hotel room, I decided I wanted to head over to Betsey Johnson in the Desert Passage mall. On my 21st birthday, I got …

-Dresses, -Proenza Schouler »

I admit: this is from the Proenza Schouler for Target line. I also admit that when someone asks me who designed this dress, I omit those last two words. To be fair, no one I know actually knows who Proenza Schouler is, so really, does it matter at all?
I was very excited when I saw that top-name designers were making collections for Target. Affordable couture. Of course I didn’t expect it to have the same luxury as the real deal does, but stylish clothing and pretty good …

This was the dress that started my near-obsession with Ann Taylor Loft. On one of the message boards I frequent, one of the girls was showing off this dress that she had just purchased to wear to her wedding rehearsal dinner. This dress wasn’t really my style, but I saw it and loved it. I went back and forth about ordering it from Ann Taylor Loft online. Even though it was on sale for $60, I just couldn’t justify buying a strapless dress. Strapless, to …

If I remember correctly, I purchased this dress for $20 off Ebay. It was a tiny bit big for me, but I haven’t worn it in years. I would probably fill it out much better now. I only wore it once, in this photo, when I went to dinner at the Magic Castle, and exclusive magic club in Hollywood. It is a very interesting dress – I can change the era with my earrings.
The way I am wearing it in this photo, I feel that it …

I bought this at the Camarillo outlets. I needed a dress or two for my bridal showers, so my maid of honor and I went out the day before Thanksgiving (we got AWESOME deals and bought the place out – my back seat was filled to the brim with packages). This Betsey Johnson steal was a $280 dress marked down to $50 because it was a sample.
We went to Betsey Johnson early in our day and I tried it on, but wasn’t 100% sure about it. They …

I picked up this dress mid-April, 2006, from the sale racks at Ann Taylor Loft. We got to the mall about 10 minutes before closing. Hubby went to the computer store, as he always does, and I raced to the other end of the mall. I got there in the nick of time, and tried on three dresses. I bought the one you see above (I ended up going back and getting the other two dresses on two separate shopping excursions). When I raced back …
