Choosing a purse should not be this difficult. But it is. It’s not cheap (as Rachel Zoe once told me, “splurge on good shoes and good handbags”), and it is something that you will be carrying every single day. It must be stylish, versatile, classic, and the right size.
After much hemming and hawing, I finally decided on this lovely Kate Spade bag:
I tried to spread my wings and not get another Kate Spade bag (I have been using Kate Spade bags for nearly 10 years). I …

My birthday is coming up (February 25th… and I love presents ) and Mr. Spork wants to buy me a new purse. My beloved Kate Spade bag is starting to fall apart, after two full years of daily use. I am too close to it – I feel like I can’t find anything as good! So I am enlisting your help. I love purses, but it is frustrating to shop for them. Like a watch or wedding ring, it is the one thing that …

Yes, I am obsessed with laptop cases. Probably because I am just obsessed with my laptop. My MacBook Pro is a good-looking machine; I want its case to be just as good looking.
Enter Mobile Edge. They offer an entire line of totes, briefcases, backpacks and portfolios specifically designed for women. Not little girls, but businesswomen. This particular tote is part of the BEF Line. The Boomer Esiason Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis, and Mobile Edge donates 10% of BEF …

My mother made a big mistake showing me this clutch. She found it while helping my grandmother clean out the closet. I told her I was borrowing it (along with a number of other vintage goodies to be posted later) to photograph it and put it up on Spork Fashion. Little does she know it is an extended borrow.
I don’t know what era this is from. The style looks 1950s, but the ingenuity and some of the materials look like they came from the 1970s. …

Another Nordstrom Rack find. I loved it, but there was a tiny nick in the leather. Really minor, only noticeable on second inspection, but an imperfection nonetheless. I had really wanted a clutch purse, and I loved the shape of this, but was wary of buying a defective product. So I left it, and continued on my search.
A few weeks later, I returned to Nordstrom Rack, and this bag was still there. I hadn’t had any luck finding a clutch elsewhere, so I broke down …

I know this is not a paisley, but I couldn’t think of anything else to call this one. I think I bought this from Nordstrom.com’s sale section. It was a few years ago. I was drawn to the wild pattern. It’s not quite mod, it’s not quite paisley… it’s just loud. I find that I prefer clothing without patterns, just interesting cuts and colors and fabrics, so I seem to be drawn towards really loud shoes and accessories. The colors make it a great …

This was a present from my folks for my 26th birthday. Well, actually, THIS was my birthday present, but in black:
It’s a nice bag, but I’m sure if you have read any of my other posts, you will know that this is a little sedate for my tastes. My parents picked it out together. My mom had her doubts, but my dad, in an attempt to “mature me,” thought I needed a classy black handbag. It was a little dull, but the clincher was that it …

I was instantly drawn to this bag at Nordstrom Rack. The combination of the enormous, fluffy, soft coat of fur and the eye-searing color was irresistable. It was $60, but marked down from over $200. I didn’t really want to spend the $60, especially on what is basically a novelty purse. But it was so soft and snuggly. I carried it around the store while I continued to shop. By the time I was ready to check out, I had bonded with the purse …

I saw this envelope clutch (actually, a slightly larger version) in Fall 2005. I liked it but had no excuse to buy it. A few months later, I realized I DID have an excuse to buy it – the silver one would be great for my wedding. Would match my shoes perfectly. But when I trekked back to the mall to find it, it was sold out. Yet another example of me waiting too long.
I spent several weeks obsessing over this clutch. I called …

I am obsessed with Andy Warhol. Obsessed. I came across this goodie at GirlShop.com. It was on clearance for $27! I wasted no time buying one. They had a couple of other totebags and purses with various Warhol prints on them, all on clearance. But I was a good girl, and only got this one. My first choice design was, of course, the Campbell’s Soup Can print, but when you buy on clearance, you often don’t have much of a choice. …
